DATE CHANGED The Politics of Morality | Feminist Book Club #12

March 23, 2022 @ 19:30 - 21:30

Free
‘The Politics of Morality’ was published in 2015 by anthropologist Joanna Mishtal. For our next meeting, we will pick up this study of the religious right’s expanding power and the impact of this on individuals and society in Poland.
The book allows us insight into the coordination between an emerging democracy post-1989 and “declining tolerance for reproductive rights, women’s rights, and political and religious pluralism”.

We will meet on Wednesday 9th March at 19:30, online.
Despite being online we’d appreciate still being able to ‘connect’ so ask that everybody turns their cameras on for at least the first 10 minutes of the meeting.
We’ll post a registration form about a week before the event and ask that you fill this in to let us know what email addresses we need to send the video link to.
Additionally, we’d love to hear the thoughts, questions, and connections that you have and make while reading the book and there’s space for you to note those on the form too.
The form will be closed around midday on the 9th and we will send out the video link sometime after that.
Accessing this book is a little more difficult than some of our other book club choices; it being ‘academic’ makes it more expensive. The best way that we’ve found to read it so far without spending a lot of pennies on an ebook is to sign up to a free 30 day trial on scribd.com. Let us know if you find other options.
