Iran: Iranian women were allowed back into stadiums after two years on the occasion of the national team’s match versus South Korea. The restriction was enacted after 1979 to protect women from the actions of men.
France:
- In Paris, at the Invalides, the organisation OSA (Objectif Sport Adapté) organised a fashion show with 16 amputee women and 2 amputee men in order to normalise their beauty and create representation for those people in the fashion industry. The collection was prepared by the stylist Fabio Porliod.
- The French parliament voted in favour of the prohibition of conversion therapies for LGBTQ+ people. People using these kinds of therapies risk two years and prison and a fine of 30000 euros. These therapies are already forbidden in Malta and Germany and other countries are following.
USA: In Texas, a judge has temporarily blocked the law against abortion, but the state can still appeal.
Scotland: The first country to include LGBTQ+ history and representation in other subjects, such as in mathematical lessons, in its education. A Scottish LGBTQ+ organisation requested this in 2018 to combat inequalities and violence against queer people.
LEGO: The company will no longer gender their products, giving young children the freedom to choose the toys they want without being subjected to gendered social pressure.
Kuwait: Maha Al-Mutairi, a trans woman has been arrested and is being held in an isolated transgender-only jail. For mimicking the “other sex,” she faces two years in prison and a fine of 1,000 Kuwaiti dinars ($3,315).
Botswana: the government wants to make homosexuality punishable again. Homosexuality has been decriminalised after a law passed in 2019.
Germany: Rebecca Weiss, a German engineer, has developed a new natural contraceptive for people with testicles. It comprises a testicular bath in the shape of a tiny bowl that uses ultrasound to interrupt spermatozoa regeneration for 15 days. This is both natural and reversible.
UK: After a report revealed that a large number of women were being drugged without their consent through beverages or needle injections, women boycotted nightclubs. The boycott was organised by an online account named “Girl Night Out,” which gathered a lot of followers.
